Giovanna Borradori is a professor of philosophy at Vassar College and the chair of the philosophy department. She specializes in nineteenth- and twentieth-century European philosophy. In recent years, her study has concentrated on architectural aesthetics and terrorism philosophy. She is the editor of Recoding Metaphysics: The New Italian Philosophy (Northwestern University Press, 1988) and the author of two books: The American Philosopher (University of Chicago Press, 1993) and Philosophy in a Time of Terror: Dialogues with Jürgen Habermas and Jacques Derrida (University of Chicago Press, 2003), a best-selling philosophy book that has been translated into ten languages.
