The elementary treatment of physiology lends itself admirably to visual display and the content of this book, although addressed principally to medical students, has a much broader relevance to other groups doing physiology as an important part of their course. The result of the diagrammatic method of presentation is a much smaller book than is usually expected for the subject covered. It is suitable for those beginning the subject as well as others for revision purposes. The illustrations include flow charts and tables, as well as line diagrams specially drawn so that they appeal to a student and will be easily memorized, for this reason they will not be too detailed and sophisticated.
