Picasso by Rose Watban

This is the book which accompanies the exhibition of the same name which opens at National Museums Scotland, Edinburgh on 6 July 2007. The exhibition, only showing in Edinburgh, focuses on the period of Picasso's life 1947-1961 when he was working at Vallauris and Cannes in southern France. It gives intimate glimpses of the man and his personal relationships during this time; paintings, photographs (including work by Lee Miller) and quotes illustrate their impact upon his work. The objects in the exhibition are a celebration of Picasso's work across the different media including ceramics, jewellery and metalwork. The book shows a selection of these objects, plus photographs of Picasso at work, and at play with his friends and family.
