Brian McAvera is a playwright for stage, radio, television and film. Theatre work includes The Troubles' Trilogy, the musical Cannon, Unchartered Waters and the two-hander Beside Picasso. Radio work includes Marie, Croniamental and versions of Picasso's Women. Television work includes Undertow of the Armada, and the film Angel Visitant which he also produced and directed. As an art critic and historian McAvera has published three books of Irish art history, one on South Asian art, and numerous catalogues and articles.
