Pirate Chicken: All Hens on Deck by Brian Yanish

There's only one thing more frightful, or funny, than a band of pirate chickens- their feared and feathered leader, Redfoot. Pick up Pirate Chicken- All Hens on Deck for a laugh out loud story time!

Lily is no ordinary chicken. She dreams of a life off the farm where she can put her grand plans into action.
Her wish is granted when pirates recruit her and her fellow chickens and whisk them away to the open seas. Soon, Lily has taken charge and becomes captain of an all-chicken crew.

But when Lily faces a mutiny, will she change her ways, or be forced to squawk the plank?

Brian Yanish has worked as an illustrator and designer for over a decade. In Western New York, he began his apprenticeship by painting monsters in kindergarten. He's worked for Jim Henson Studios in Los Angeles, studied special effects moldmaking, written and performed comedy, produced instructional CD-ROMs, and sold his own T-shirt business. He now resides in New York City, where he directs the ScrapKins Recycled Arts program, designs for clothes, children's books, and apps, and continues his studies as a monster artist. ScrapKins(R) is a children's creativity brand established in New York City that follows the adventures of a tribe of monsters who build their home out of trash.

The ScrapKins teach children how to turn milk cartons into pirate ships and towel tubes into dinosaurs by discovering creativity in everyday materials through school visits and Recycled Art-Making workshops. Whole Foods Markets, Seventh Generation, Clif Bar, The Doha Film Institute in Qatar, Make, Speakaboos.com, Wildlife Conservation Society at The Bronx Zoo, World Science Festival, Maker Faire, and Scholastic Afterschool have all commissioned them to create programs. ScrapKins' purpose is to promote creativity and DIY resourcefulness in kids everywhere. It was founded in 2006 by children's designer Brian Yanish and is based on his childhood drawings. Scrapkins can be found at http://www.scrapkins.com.
