Place of the Skull by Aitmatov
Detective Inspector John Jackson is working on a drug smuggling case with his team when they are called to a warehouse where the body of a dead man has been found. While trying to discover the identity of the man they are informed that Jessica Franks, a colleague who works for the Swedish Police, has apparently had an accident while at work. When he is told of her sudden and unexpected resignation he is worried. Detective Inspector Jackson then gets a cryptic call from Officer Franks saying she has important information for them and needs a safe house. After she arrives in England the pieces start to fall into place and involve the whole of Europe. Can Jackson and his team keep Jessica safe from the head of the drugs ring in Europe while bringing the case to a close and the gang members to justice?
