Malik walks over to see the silver-blood Kia. Her eyes catch a glimpse of something moving towards her. She looks down and sees someone getting closer. She notices it isn't anyone she has seen before. Then she smells a whiff of his scent. She notices he is a... Malik walks slowly around Kia looking at her as if she was on display. So this is what you look like. You're the one that escaped us that night. You are pretty. Smart too. He can't keep from looking at Kia's skin. How it shimmers like tiny pieces of glass rubbed all over it. Then it stops and her beautiful reddish/tan color skin shows. What is happening to you? Malik wonders. Kia's eyes shuffle back and forth with anger gleaming from them. If she could only get loose, she knows she would shift into a different creature. She can feel it stirring inside her. Malik notices her eyes. Every few minutes, they change color from brown to blue to green, back to brown. He can't help but stare at her. Watching her struggle, he tries hypnotizing her, but he soon learns it doesn't work on her. She can see past the gaze he offers and straight into his soulless body. Malik stands up sharply, actually a little intimated by Kia's ability to see into him so deeply. Malik shakes his head for a brief second. Well, you really are something special, aren't you? Our powers don't work on you. That is interesting. But I do know you alone cannot harm us. Malik mutters and smirks. Kia tries harder to push the drugs feeding her veins and keeping her from shifting into a creature and attack him. However, they overcome the feeling of being pure human and not of a shapeshifter. They are too strong for her and she has to stop fighting it. Her heart races so fast it feels like it is going to pound out of her chest. She still hasn't felt the twins move in a few days now. She knows they're alive. They're just relaxed. She hopes it is from the drugs, and not her body trying to shift.

Vicki Adrian was born in Tampa, Florida. Grew up in Pasco County, Florida in the country. Where she learned to love animals and natural on a small farm her parents had when she was very young. Now she is a self-taught herbalist in natural remedies and medicine focused on animals. She has been studying and learning for over 15 years in Chinese herbs, Folk Remedies, Herbal medicine and Homeopathy's. She works daily in drywall that is her business for over 10 years. She started full time online college in 2011 and finished her AS degree in Multi media design March 2014. During her teachings she took creative writing and it sparked her life long dream to write. That is how her first Novel came to be. Devils Attic with two more books to the series coming The Plantation by the end of 2014. Vicki is currently attending college to finish a BS degree in Internet Security and Digital Forensics. While she works full time in Drywall. She also raises AKC Boxers they are her pride and joy.
