Playing with Fire by Jayne Davis
Hannah Smith thinks she's safe now that Reuben Tate is set to face trial. But when an unusual creature is let loose on the Freak House estate, everybody is in danger, including Jack. To hunt it down, the household must take risks, but the greatest risk is to Hannah's heart. She's in danger of falling deeply in love with Jack, a man whose very touch can kill her.
Davis, Jayne: - Jayne Davis was born in England, near the Welsh border, and lived in several places while growing up, including a spell in Singapore and in Malta. Malta was where she got hooked on historical romances - her parents rented a furnished house, and the owners had left most of their books there, including a whole set of Georgette Heyer novels. Loving Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer, she longed to write similar novels myself. She toyed with the idea several times over the years, but real life intervened and she had several careers, including as a non-fiction author under another name. Now she is also enjoying sharing her historical romance stories with her readers. www.jaynedavisromance.co.uk
