Plutarch: Alexander by J Hamilton
Based on Ziegler's revised text, this book provides a commentary on Plutarch's "Life of Alexander". It devotes most of its space to historical matters, comparing Plutarch's narrative at every point with the sources. In addition, it adds a fresh introduction and select bibliographies on Plutarch and on Alexander himself.
J.R. Hamilton grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, and lived there until he left school to join the Navy in 1964. After a time in Viet Nam, he was assigned to NAS (Naval Air Station) Corpus Christi and was stationed there for three years. While stationed in Corpus, he managed to get into a little trouble and much of it was due to biking. He started working on motorcycles when he was 13, an old Triumph 650. He got his hands on a 1959 Panhead and began rebuilding his second motorcycle; this one became the love of his life. J.R. He has ridden with clubs in Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Maryland, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and South Dakota, and rode in Daytona's Run for the Sun and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
