J. H. Clearview was born in Marton, Gainsborough in 1938; and died in Stockholm in 2016. Middle son of a family of nine. He attended the local village school, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Gainsborough, and the London School of Economics. He had lived in the U.S.A., Canada, and for the last 49 years of his life, Sweden. He started writing seriously in the second half of the 1960’s with historical, and later, more modern plays; and has a large portfolio covering novels, poetry, and essays.
