Meredith Hooper is an Antarctica specialist. She has recently returned from a three month trip to Antarctica and visits the icy continent regularly. Her many books include Journey to Antarctica, A is for Antarctica and, for Frances Lincoln, Antarctic Journal and Ice Trap! - Shackleton's Incredible Expedition. Meredith was awarded the Antarctica Service Medal by the US Congress in 2000. Jan Ormerod was born in Australia. Her first picture book, Sunshine, won the Mother Goose Award in 1982, was voted the Picture Book of the Year 1982 by the Children's Book Council of Australia and highly commended for the Kate Greenaway Medal. For Frances Lincoln, she illustrated A Twist in the Tail.
