Frederick Crews is the author of a number of novels, including the bestseller comedy The Pooh Perplex, Postmodern Pooh, and, most recently, Follies of the Wise, which was a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist. He is widely considered as the foremost critic of Freud and psychoanalysis. He is a professor emeritus of English at the University of California, Berkeley, and a frequent contributor to The New York Review of Books.
