This work was to be given to JD for his 75th birthday. A birthday he has not known, as he died one year before.
The authors who have given their contribution to pay (an international) homage to Derrida, are all well known for their personal research and their profound reading of Derrida's work. They have all known the person and his oeuvre.
Derrida's immense oeuvre, in part already published and in part forthcoming, goes exceeds the limits of philosophy, literature, law, psychoanalysis and politics. The texts of the present book explore Derridas thinking and at the same time make it accessible to demanding/exacting readers.
To the essays in this book has been added an unpublished text by Derrida himself, entitled Penser ce qui vient, Thinking what is coming. This text is a result of a series of discussions with Alain Minc at the Sorbonne in 1994.
Born in 1932, Ren Major who is originally from Quebec, has first studied medicine at the Montr al University and he decided to train in psychoanalysis in Paris where he finally settled and still works.
