His previous publications include Turner's Oxford (2000), Samuel Palmer 1805-1881: Vision and Landscape (2005, joint author) and the Complete Illustrated Catalogue of Paintings in the Ashmolean Museum (2004, joint editor and author). Christopher Newall is a writer and art historian specialising in 19th-century British art who has curated numerous exhibitions of Pre-Raphaelite painting worldwide.
