Prepared for a Purpose by Antoinette Tuff

Arlene Jane White was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi and lived there until age 18. While reading every book available to her, she developed a true passion for oral storytelling and writing non-fiction. Precious and intense memories of people, places, and things are liberally shared in each of her narratives.

Grown Folks' Business is an-at-a-glance version of White's to be continued life story. This writer's down-to-earth approach captures and conveys lessons learned over time. This humorous and reflective memoir evokes emotions ranging from gladness to sadness, while making stops at all points in between. It is a heartfelt expression of love for all those who walk across the stages of this woman's life. In response, readers shake their heads and laugh out loud while turning pages of Grown Folks' Business.

Antoinette Tuff is a true picture of grace, courage, leadership, and heroism at its best. But before she made headlines and talked a school shooter back from the brink, she was a woman who faced--and overcame--her own pain and hurt. Publicly recognized by President Obama for her courageous act that saved a school from tragedy, she's also been nominated for the prestigious Carnegie Medal for civilian heroism. Today Antoinette speaks around the world, spreading hope and sharing her inspiring message of how our lives prepare us for our own moments of purpose. She has two children.
