Alison J. Clarke is a professor and chair of Design History and Theory at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, as well as the research director of the Victor J. and Alison J. Clarke Foundation. The Papanek Foundation encourages socially conscious design. She used to be a history fellow at the Smithsonian Institution.
