Anthony A. Braga, Ph.D. currently serves as the Chief Policy Advisor to the Boston Police Commissioner, and he is a Senior Research Associate in the Program in Criminal Justice Policy and Management at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and in the Berkeley Center for Criminal Justice at the University of California, Berkeley's Boalt Hall Law School. He has served as a consultant on problem-oriented policing strategies to the U.S. Department of Justice and the police departments in Baltimore, Los Angeles, New York City, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Oakland and San Francisco, among other agencies. He was a core member of the Boston Gun Project/Operation Ceasefire working group, which was responsible for designing a highly effective strategy to reduce youth homicide in Boston.
