Product liability is a developing area of the law that was changed radically by Part 1 of the 'Consumer Protection Act 1987', which in turn implemented an EC Directive on the subject. This student text offers a detailed, contextual and authoritative account of the origins, theoretical basis and practical workings of product liability law.Peter Cane was, until 1997, a fellow of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. He is now a Professor of Law in the Research School of Social Sciences at the Australian National University. Jane Stapleton was, until 1997, a fellow of Balliol College, Oxford.
