Jeanne DuPrau is the author of various nonfiction books for children and adults. She has worked as a technical writer, an editor, and a teacher. Her debut novel for middle schoolers is The City of Ember. She's currently working on the sequel at her Menlo Park home, where she has a large garden and a small dog.
