Protestant Future by Robert Kernohan
“The Protestant Future is to reflect the light of the world”. In an assessing the future of Protestantism, RD Kernohan is asking honestly, “Does it have a future?” If so, is that a future a promising one? This acute commentator answers his own question with the assertion that it is God’s promises which count. He reaches some startling conclusions along the way and writes in a provocative and challenging fashion. Through discussions about intercommunion, women’s place in ministry, and dialogue with Rome, a clear message emerges: if the Protestant Church puts faith in Christ first, then the light will shine.
Robert was the editor of the Church of Scotland's magazine "Life and Work" from 1972 till 1990. Born in Glasgow in 1931, he graduated from Glasgow University, achieved a first in Modern History at Balliol College, Oxford and served with the Royal Air Force before going into Journalism. He was assistant editor and then London editor of "the Glasgow Herald". He has also been a regular radio broadcaster and is an editor at Cramond Kirk, Edinburgh.
