Pub Quiz is Life by Richard Bean
A murderous black comedy set in Hull's bleak economy, with too many questions and all the wrong answers. Lee, a soldier returning to Hull from two tours of Afghanistan, joins a losing pub quiz team. What they need is a bit of class, a bit of history of art, and a bit of literature.
Richard Bean worked as a stand-up comedian from 1989 and 1994 and went on to be one of the writers and performers of the sketch show His first full length play, "Of Rats and Men" was staged at the Canal Cafe and went on to Edinburgh. He adapted it for radio for the BBC and it was nominated for a Sony Award. Richard Bean's previous plays include "England People Very Nice and "The Mentalists."
