He is author, co-author or editor of seven books, including Aspects of Accountability in the British System of Government (Tudor, 1996), The British Civil Service (Palgrave Macmillan, 1995), and The New Public Administration in Britain (with John Greenwood and David Wilson), Routledge, 2002. His articles have been published in a range of journals, and he is the Editor of the journal Public Policy and Administration.
