David Kleinberg-Levin taught in the Humanities Department at MIT from 1968 to 1972, when he joined the Department of Philosophy at Northwestern. Disclosive hermeneutical phenomenology is at the center of his work, which he applies in novel ways to themes and difficulties in aesthetics, clinical psychology, moral philosophy, and critical social theory.
