The Quantity Theory of Insanity by Will Self

Will Self's mesmeric, inimitable debut short-story collection
'If a manic JG. Ballard and a depressive David Lodge got together, they might produce something like The Quantity Theory of Insanity. But Will Self's world is all his own' Martin Amis 'This hilarious black satire seethes with wonderfully weird ideas and bizarre images, written with a delicate precision' Literary Review 'Will Self's The Quantity Theory of Insanity is as disturbing as satire ought to be and these days seldom is. Also it is unashamedly funny as well as chilling, presented with an air of cunning repose' Guardian 'Self savages any human institution or being that smacks of ponderosity. And he writes like a devil' Mail on Sunday
Will Self is the author of four collections of short stories (the first of which, The Quantity Theory of Insanity, won the 1992 Geoffrey Faber Memorial Award), five novels (of which How the Dead Live was shortlisted for the Whitbread Novel of the Year in 2002), and four non-fiction works. He is a regular broadcaster on television and radio and as a journalist a contributor to a plethora of publications. He lives in London with his wife and four children.
