Stephan Martiniere is a well-known science fiction and fantasy artist from around the world. He's been known for his talent, versatility, and imagination in every industry of entertainment, including feature films, advertising, animation, video games, theme parks, editorial, and book covers, during the last 25 years. Stephan's credits include The Fifth Element, Star Trek, Knowing, I, Robot, Star Wars Episode 2 and Episode 3, Virus, Red Planet, The Astronaut's Wife, Sphere, Titan A.E., Time Machine, and Total Recall 2012, as well as 300: Battle of Artemisia and Akira. Stephan won the A.C.T. Award, the Parents' Choice Award, the Humanitas Prize, and was nominated for an Emmy for directing five animated musical interpretations of Madeline. Stephan has also received the Hugo Award, two Chesley Awards, two Silver and a Gold Spectrum Award, five Master and fifteen Excellent Expose Awards, the Thea Award, two BSFA Awards, the Seattle Show Award, and the Expose Grand Master Award, among other accolades.
In addition, ImagineFX Magazine named him one of the 50 most inspirational artists. He worked with Midway Games in Chicago for various years as the Visual Design Director for the game Stranglehold, and later as the Creative Visual Director for several additional games, including Area 51, Blitz, Ballers, Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe, and several unannounced titles. He was also the Art Director for id Software's 2011 artistically praised game Rage, as well as the Visual Design Director for URU: Ages Beyond Myst, URU: The Way of the Shell, and Myst 5.
