Louise Mabbs has been sewing since she was eight years old. She studied textiles at Winchester, and soon developed a particular interest in quilting. She now makes commissioned pieces, teaches and contributes to quilting and patchwork magazines. This is her first book, but her work has been featured in several others. She lives in London, England. Wendy Lowes developed an interest in textile art in the 1960’s but waited until her children were at university before embarking on the City and Guilds Embroidery Course at Windsor in 1987. She then did two years of research into fabric folding techniques, which resulted in a Diploma in Stitched Textiles followed by a BA Hons. Degree in Art and Design. She has been teaching and lecturing on Origami Techniques in Fabric since 1997. She lives in Northwood, Middlesex.
