Quilts Beneath Your Feet by Christine Porter

Christine first noticed the relationship between patchwork and tiles when exploring the churches and cathedrals of her native Bristol. Here she provides 10 original patterns, together with variations on each, to inspire the reader to discover this wonderful source of pieced patchwork designs for themselves. Time-saving techniques are explored giving the reader more time to create eye-catching quilts. Guidance is provided on selecting fabric, and the author explores how the use of marbelized fabrics can replicate the original stone floor tiles.
Christine Porter, a quilter for more than 20 years, is a highly respected teacher and judge in both Britain and the USA, where she also lectures frequently. Until recently she was coeditor of Britain's leading patchwork magazine, Patchwork & Quilting, sponsors of the national Quilts UK exhibition. She is the director of her own company, Cabot Quilting Conferences.
