The Quisling is a contemporary action thriller that follows the story of psychiatrist Dr. Zack Scarlatto who becomes involved with a volatile and violent Mexican drug cartel. It's dangerous to be even remotely associated with the gang, and to make matters worse, Zack falls in love with a woman named Maria, whose husband Carlos is uncovered as a traitor of the organization and has disappeared. Zack knows who--and more importantly, where--Carlos (the quisling) is. As such, Zack is a valuable player in the gang's effort to locate and kill him.

Navigating a world of abuse, suicide, dysfunctional personalities, and organized violence, Zack must decide if the woman he has fallen in love with is worth risking his career for--and if it's indeed even possible to build a life together in the dark shadow of crime he has come to inhabit.

Matrick, Lawrence: - Dr. Lawrence E. Matrick received his M.D. degree in Medicine from the Manitoba Medical College. He subsequently worked at the Provincial Mental Hospital as a resident in psychiatry. He continued his studies in London, England and received his British degrees in Psychiatry. As a Fellow of the Canadian Royal College of Physicians and Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia, Dr. Matrick maintained a full-time private practice in Vancouver for almost 50 years. He also frequently served as a court appointed expert witness in British Columbia. A previously published nonfiction writer, he lives in West Vancouver.
