The Rachel Riley Diaries: My (Not So) Simple Life by Joanna Nadin
Dumped! I cannot believe it. Am racked by torture and loss! Have wanted tragedy in my life for so long but now I've got it, it actually sort of sucks . . . big time! Have made a plan to deal with post-break-up trauma i.e. will not moon about over exes but will embrace single life. Everything will be so much easier without the complications of love. It will be a completely simple life and I am fully committed. Starting now! Or at least after breakfast . . . I'm Rachel Riley - welcome to my so-called life. Not suitable for younger readers.
Nadin achieves the rare trick of producing a book that will make both adults and teenagers laugh aloud * Observer *
Joanna Nadin was born in Northampton and moved to Saffron Walden in Essex when she was three. She did well at school (being a terrible swot) and then went to Hull University to study Drama. Three years of pretending to be a toaster and pretending to like Fellini films put her off the theatre for life. She moved to London to study for an MA in Political Communications and after a few years as an autocue girl and a radio newsreader got a job with the Labour Party as a campaigns writer and Special Adviser. She now lives in Bath with her daughter and is a freelance speech writer. She has written many books and has been shortlisted three times for the Queen of Teen Award and also shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize.
