Rakhmaninov was a concert pianist, conductor and composer of late-Romantic masterpieces. For this new edition the author has assessed recent documentary findings, and has spent time in research at Ivanovka, the estate, in the Russian countryside, where Rakhmaninov wrote so much of his music.
