Rare Beasts by Charles Ogden

"Hello, little hamble!" Edgar exclaimed, holding up the creature so he could look into its mismatched eyes. "Not another one like you in all the world. Definitely exotic! Definitely worth a lot of money!" Creepy twins Edgar and Ellen are bad, bad, bad. And it's never long before they're up to mischief ... Something unspeakable is happening to the beloved pets belonging to the townsfolk of Nod's Limbs. Soon dozens of pets are separated from their loving owners and trapped in the dank, dark basement of Edgar and Ellen's mansion, each undergoing its own unique and terrible transformation... Oh, the horror!
Charles Ogden is an avid camper and fisherman. He collects insects and has travelled in pursuit of various specimens to the North Pole, the South Pole and Poland. Mr Ogden and his insect collection make their home in a cool, dry, preservation-friendly environment, far removed from prying eyes. Rick Carton has been drawing longer than he's been walking. In his Chicago studio he has a cherished collection of every pencil ever worn down to a nub during his lengthy artistic career. He has never formally studed art; instead, the art community has diligently studied him. They are yet to release their findings.
