The public ministry of the Church of England currently comprises some 27,000 licensed ministers and more than 10,000 Readers. Cathy Rowling is a Canon and Prebendary of York. She is Dean of Women's Ministry in the Diocese, and is Diocesan Moderator of Readers. Paula Gooder is Canon Theologian at Birmingham Cathedral. She has taught at Queens College, Birmingham and is Honorary Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. She is a freelance writer and lecturer.
