Reading Kristeva by Kelly Oliver
Situating Kristeva within the context of French feminism, this book guides through Kristeva's intellectual formation in linguistics, Freud, Lacan, and poetics. It shows that Kristeva's writings attempt to unravel the double-bind between static identity, or totalitarianism, on the one hand, and the loss of identity, or delirium, on the other.KELLY OLIVER is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. Her articles on Nietzsche, Foucault, Kristeva, and feminist philosophy have appeared in Social Theory and Practice, Hypatia, Radical Philosophy, and Diacritics. She is co-editor (with Dale Bauer) of a special issue of Hypatia on philosophy and language.
