Music theorist Heinrich Schenker (1868 1935) is best remembered for his approach to music analysis, now termed Schenkerian analysis. He studied under the composer Bruckner and taught music theory and piano privately to several noted musicians, conductors, and composers.Eric Wen was appointed the Edward Aldwell Professor of the Techniques of Music at Mannes College in 2008. He also teaches at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he served for seven years as Chair of the Musical Studies Department.
