GoshI don't know what to say about this, except that it's only Terry's fourth Ready to Paint - the man's so prolific and his painting and writing style so lend themselves to the series that you'd swear there were more. Anyway, if you like Terry's style and you want the additional hand-holding of the pre-printed tracings and extended step-by-step demonstrations, this is the book for you. You get five absolutely classic Terry views, with fields, barns, streams and woodlands and the book is a perfect introduction to landscape painting. I can't say any more because, once again, Terry has absolutely got it nailed and you really won't be disappointed.-Artbookreview.net Many people would love to paint but find it very hard to draw - which immediately leads to poor results and diminishing confidence. This book offers a way of overcoming those problems. By providing tracings which can be reused several times, all the would be artist has to do is concentrate on the actual painting. The step by step instructions highlight which paints to use and what technique should be followed to achieve the desired result. Interestingly, Terry Harrison also suggests ways in which elements of the tracings can be combined to make very unique countryside landscapes. He profiles five basic country scenes - an open gate leading to a farm, a snow scene, a bridge over a ford in an autumn wood, a riverside setting and springtime bluebells. All in all, a very useful book which is ideal for beginners, or anyone who finds drawing difficult.-Monstersandcritics.com

Terry Harrison grew up in Norfolk. His early art education was basic and he never dreamed that he would become an artist. At fifteen, Terry moved to Hampshire and was inspired by a brilliant art teacher. He took O and A levels in art, then won a place at Farnham Art School at the age of sixteen. He became a graphic artist, but continued to paint in his spare time. In 1984 Terry gave up his job to paint full time. He demonstrates to artists' groups and teaches on painting holidays. He has also developed a range of his own brushes and paints. He is the author of many best selling books on painting with acrylics and watercolours. Terry now lives in the Cotswolds.
