Ian Spring is a Glasgow-born, Perthshire-based academic and poet who has taught at Cardiff University. He is the author of Phantom Village: the Myth of the New Glasgow (1990) and is currently writing Scotland Seen and Imagined: a cultural history of modern Scotland. He has written articles for The Scotsman, TES, Scotland on Sunday and the Scottish Daily News, and has contributed papers and chapters to books on Scottish film, folk music, media studies, Glasgow, St Kilda, Burns and Scottish novels.
