Red bus. Red car, red bus. Yellow car, red car, red bus. This beautifully simple picture book introduces the concept of patterns to the youngest child. Sure to be a big hit with the very youngIbby Link 5*: This book is a good one for an adult to share with a child, savouring the pictures together, but it is large and robust enough for showing and chatting about to a nursery group. Books for Keeps
Having initially trained as a graphic designer, SUSAN STEGGALL became a primary school teacher and taught young children for several years. After having her own two boys, she began work in a school library where she enjoyed finding out about new authors and illustrators and selecting beautiful new books for the shelves. As her boys grew up, she started making all sorts of pictures for them of the cars, trucks and trains they found so fascinating. Susan lives in the New Forest in Hampshire. She makes the collages for her picture books in a wooden workshop in the garden, listening to her favourite music and drinking extraordinary amounts of tea. Her other titles for Frances Lincoln are Rattle and Rap (9781847801272), On the Road (9781845071035), The Life of a Car (9781845076351), Busy Boats (9781847801982) and The Diggers are Coming (9781847802880).
