Because the educational system only teaches children reading, writing, and arithmetic to solve their problems, children are not learning the basic social, emotional, or behavioral skills to help them cope with life and form relationships. Jason K. Johnson is one of the nation's foremost experts on police and military K-9s. As such, he is the founder of the nonprofit organization Project K-9 Hero (ProjectK9Hero.org) and CEO/President of K-9 Solutions International (k-9si.com).

Johnson served the United States federal government for several years in multiple positions: as subject-matter expert and Field Canine Coordinator for the National Explosives Detection Canine Team Program within the Department of Homeland Security; former Lead Instructor and Course Developer at the ATF National Canine Training Center; and a High Threat Protection K-9 Handler in Iraq and Afghanistan for the U.S. Department of State.

Prior to his federal government service, Johnson was a police K-9 trainer and handler, an adjunct professor at Henley-Putnam University, and a Military Police officer with the U.S. Army. He also holds a Master's Degree in Security Management.

Johnson's Project K-9 Hero seeks to provide health and wellness care for retired police and military K-9s in return for their careers of loyalty and service to the public.
