His first play, MADE OF STONE, produced in the Royal Court Young Writers' Festival 2000, was praised for its "rock-hard characterisation with buzzing dialogue" (Evening Standard).
Leo Butler is 26 years old and comes from Sheffield. He attended Rose Bruford College in London and has previously received a grant from the Peggy Ramsay Foundation. He is the winner of the 33rd Georg e Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright. He is currently under commission to the Royal Court Th eatre, London.
