Rehearsal by Julie Anderson

REHEARSAL is the true-life story of Julie Anderson, who, as a young girl in the 60's, leaves her safe but predictable life in Norwich, England, to live in London in search of her destiny. She never dreams that a rather obscure job advert in the Evening Standard newspaper will take her from working for Brian Epstein, manager of the Beatles, to being the Personal Assistant to Simon Dee on the BBC's top celebrity chat show of the era, marrying American pop idol John Walker from the Walker Brothers, and living in the South of France with the Rolling Stones while the Stones were recording their epic album Exile on Main Street. But the novelty of fame and fortune wears off quickly, and the more Julie gets caught in the world of glamour, parties and the celebrity lifestyle, the more she longs to live in her destiny. Throughout the turmoil, the gift she possesses since childhood to see into the supernatural realm, lifts her beyond it all. This real-life story is of how someone who seems to have it all discovers that this life is merely a rehearsal for something greater to come.
This book is a great read, from a lady who has since gained insights into music's great influences on culture and society as a wholeI've known Julie Anderson since the early seventies, and during that time I was producing an album for her then, pop star husband, John Walker of the Walker Brothers. They spent many months living with me at my villas in both Grasse, and Vence, in the south of France. This was during the time when we (the Rolling Stones) were recording our classic double album 'Exile on Main Street'..." Bill Wyman: Ex-Bass player Rolling Stones. // Julie's experience at the epicentre of the British rock revolution as working with The Beatles Manager, and then living amidst the Rolling Stones and other stars of the times is a revelation of those times, and what they unleashed into our world. Her radical conversion and subsequent spiritual experiences are a revelation of the ultimate reality, that all of our experiences in this life are but a rehearsal for eternity. Everyone in the performing arts should read this book. Everyone else can benefit from it. Rick Joyner: Morning Star ministries. // Julie Anderson has drawn back the curtain to a world that few people ever see. She reveals the inner workings of the rock `n roll life. This well-written and insightful book will give us all courage to intercede for those in the entertainment industry. Many of us are believing for a great move of God in this influential part of our society. Cindy Jacobs, Generals International, recognised international prophet. // "As one who lived through the musical revolution of the 60's and 70's, I have always found its power and influence fascinating. Through this movement, a generation found its voice and, in many ways, has never looked back. Julie Anderson's powerful look at this phenomenon from the inside sheds much light on what it released, where it took us and how God so marvellously inserted Himself into it. An insightful and fascinating read!" Dutch Sheets, Founder Dutch Sheets Ministries.
Julie Anderson's background is in the media & music industry, having worked for Brian Epstein, Beatles manager during the 60's, and then for Simon Dee when he was host of the first `live' popular celebrity chat show on BBC TV at the time. She was then married to John Walker, of The Walker Brothers, an American pop group that had achieved huge success in the UK and Europe. They lived with Bill Wyman, bass player of the Rolling Stones, in the south of France in the early 70's, while the Stones were recording their epic album 'Exile on Main Street', and Bill was helping her husband produce an album at the same time. After her marriage to John Walker ended with all the pressures that come from that lifestyle, she had an encounter with the Lord and committed her life to Him. Julie remarried in 1984 and she and her husband Rod, who had graduated from Bible School in the USA, launched Prayer for the Nations (now The Prayer Foundation) in 1985, a Christian ministry. Working internationally, the ministry has touched many lives through Strategic Prayer Schools, Prayer Summits, residential conferences, Christian TV broadcasts, Bible teaching and training courses, and other special strategic and prophetic gatherings, including hosting 'The Call: England' in 2002, in co-operation with Lou Engle.
