The story of an ageing Border Reivers last raid before peace descends on the Borders until, with the coming of war, a new raider emerges whose acts of violence and terror leave a new generation of families bereaved.
Mike Routledge has at various times been both a primary and secondary school headteacher, school inspector and Associate Head of Education at a university college. A proud Cumbrian he lives with his family in Carlisle. ‘The Reiver’ is his first novel.
