The key emphasis of this book is on the various modelling, optimization and application of various risk assessment and management techniques in design, planning and operation of electrical networks with high penetration of renewable energy resources. This book introduces existing and new modelling approaches, optimization, control and management methods, as well as their various assessment, estimation or mitigation approaches. Dr. Farhad Shahnia received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Queensland University of Technology (Australia) in 2011. He is a Professor at the School of Engineering and Energy, Murdoch University, Perth, Australia. Prior to that, he was a lecturer at Curtin University (Australia, 2012-15). He has published 9 books, 15 book chapters, and 250+ scholarly journal articles, conference papers and technical reports.

Dr. Behnam Mohammadi-Ivatloo has received his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2012. He is a professor at the School of Energy Systems in Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology (LUT), Lappeenranta, Finland. He has published 11 books and 300+ papers and has led over 20 externally funded research projects in the areas of integrated energy systems, sector coupling, renewable energies, energy storage systems, microgrids, and smart grids.
