The Return of Frankie Stine by Barry Hutchison
Frankie woke up, flat on his back on a hard wooden board. He had a banging headache. That was the first thing he noticed. The second thing he noticed was that he was dead.
Barry Hutchison hails from the Highlands of Scotland, where he spends time writing screenplays, comics and scary children’s books. He is in his early thirties – but on a good day could easily pass for mid-forties – and lives happily with his long-term partner and young son. He is tall – but not like the BFG or that – and likes seafood, comics and Elvis, though not necessarily in that order. Alan Gibbons trained as a teacher and through working with young people discovered his literary voice. He started writing fiction for his pupils and published his first novel in 1993. Alan has also appeared on the BBC education programme Writer’s Block, the Blue Peter Book Awards, radio 4’s Front Row, and is a regular contributor to TES, Junior Education, Carousel, Books for Keeps and other journals.
