An arson attack on the home of a journalist seems motiveless, then Inspector John Bright discovers the reporter was having an affair, that his ex-wife had links to the drug trade and that he had been close to publishing articles exposing police corruption.
Maureen O'Brien has spent her life as an actress, playing at the Old Vic and Chichester, and she has also appeared on television (she was Vicki in Dr Who) and in films, most recently as Mrs Lawrence in The Land Girls. She has also written radio and screenplays and this is her fifth novel.
