Revolting Youth by Cd Payne
In the wry and subversive sequel to Youth in Revolt, America's most literate (yet shamelessly crude) teen diarist accidentally ignites criminal mayhem, seeks union with his love, Sheeni Saunders and still has to live as a girl to avoid police detection. But now, Nick has decided that he must marry Sheeni in order to ensure that she is with him forever. In pursuit of this goal, he almost blows his fortune, nearly cripples the nation with a computer virus, shoots his future father-in-law and undergoes radical plastic surgery to resemble a French actor!
California writer C.D. Payne is the author of over a dozen humorous novels that have won a large cult following around the world. His best-known work, Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp, was the basis of a 2010 film. From Weinstein Films, it starred Michael Cera, Steve Buscemi, Justin Long, Ray Liotta, and Jean Smart. Besides Miracle in a Can (just published), Payne's recent novels include Revolt at the Beach (book 8 in the Twisp series) and Cheeky Swimsuits of 1957. The latter is the story of a young Yale grad (class of '57) who wants to be a filmmaker, but winds up in Ukiah running a small company that makes bathing suits for women with problem figures. Payne has made two trips to the Czech Republic and Slovakia where his novels are immensely popular. He is a native of Ohio (born in 1949 in Akron) and a graduate of Harvard College.
