Riding Towards the Light by Paul Belasik
Any rider who has tangled at all seriously with the task of discovering the deep mysteries of horsemanship will readily be able to identify with this account of the author's journey through the bowels of Equestrian Hades, in his search for truth about the horse. The author shares his personal experiences of the unconventional and divergent paths he has travelled. From the ancient masters of horsemanship to modern international trainers, via the wisdom of the martial arts to basic psychology, he seeks out the common thread of fundamental values and attempts to apply it to his own riding.
Paul Belasik is a graduate of Cornell University. His articles on horses and horsemanship have appeared in many equestrian publications in the United States, most frequently in The Chronicle of the Horse. He lives in Pennsylvania, where he runs a small training stable.
