Rising Sun by Robert Conroy
It is the summer of 1942 and what historians have called the Incredible Victory in the Battle of Midway has become a horrendous disaster that could change the outcome of the war in the Pacific. Two of America’s handful of carriers in the PaFor Baen Publications, Robert Conroy wrote a series of very popular alternate history novels, including Himmler's War and Rising Sun. The renowned Sidewise Prize for alternate histories went to his 1942, which is set during a Japanese occupation of Hawaii. Conroy has contributed to Military History magazine and has traveled extensively around Europe, with a focus on battles, historical collections, and castles. Conroy has turned his lifelong interest for writing and military history into an enormously fulfilling new vocation after a first career in business. He is married, lives in southeastern Michigan, and teaches business and economic history at a local college when he is not writing.
