The Road to Santiago by Michael Jacobs
This is a fully-illustrated guide to the remarkable architecture along the main pilgrim route through Spain to Santiago de Compostela in the north-west. Established by the end of the 10th century, the route passes the churches, monasteries, cathedrals, hostels and hospitals associated with the pilgrimage as well as fine examples of Romanesque, Mozarabic, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and traditional folk architecture. This guide is an invaluable companion for the traveller and pilgrim.
