A Roar for Stanley by Phil Mcmylor
A little boy is walking through the jungle when he meets a lion who cannot roar. "I'll call you Stanley", says the boy, and then together they set off to get help for the lion. They meet a snorting hippo, a chattering monkey, a squawking parrot, a neighing zebra and a trumpeting elephant, but none of them sounds like a roar and Stanley says nothing at all.
