Robert B. Parker's Killing the Blues by Michael Brandman

A Boston-based crime organization is in the process of expanding its activities. Their next stop: Paradise, Massachusetts. One that, if Paradise police chief Jesse Stone has his way, will be their last.
'No one understands what makes Bob Parker's Jesse Stone tick better than Michael Brandman - and Michael is just the writer to carry Jesse into the future' Tom Selleck
Robert B. Parker was the author of seventy books, including the legendary Spenser detective series, the Jesse Stone novels, the acclaimed Virgil Cole / Everett Hitch westerns, and the Sunny Randall novels. Winner of the Mystery Writers of America Grand Master Award and long considered the undisputed dean of American crime fiction, he died in January 2010. Michael Brandman is uniquely qualified to carry the Jesse Stone series into the future. An award-winning producer of more than thirty motion pictures, he collaborated with Robert B. Parker on more than a dozen of them. Brandman co-wrote the screenplays for Stone Cold, No Remorse and Innocents Lost, and supervised the screenplay adaptations of Night Passage, Death in Paradise and Sea Change. He lives in California.
